WHAT IS CLEAR CORRECT - CLEAR ALIGNERS?

Posted by Dr. Bird on Dec 15 2020, 08:19 PM

Are you frustrated about having crooked teeth or malocclusion? Are you worried about having to put on metal braces and attract unwanted attention? Dentistry has a solution in the form of Clear Correct - Clear aligners. A top choice for everyone who wants a more discreet approach to straightening their teeth, clear aligners are made of a clear and flexible material and are comfortable, virtually invisible, and removable.  Clear Correct aligners are like traditional metal braces - they treat the bite and alignment issues like traditional metal braces but without the brackets and wires.

Unlike traditional braces that use metal brackets and wires to move teeth, Clear Correct braces use a series of clear aligners to shift teeth into place. The clear aligners are made of clear and comfortable plastic and will remain clear and virtually invisible when worn.

HOW DO CLEARCORRECT CLEAR ALIGNERS WORK?

The aligners are created by using an impression of your teeth and gums.  The lab will then create a series of aligners that start with your teeth' current position and slowly move them until they are perfectly straight.

A patient will need to wear each aligner for about four to six weeks before replacing it with the next one in the series. By wearing all the sets of aligners prescribed by the dentist, your crooked teeth will start to straighten. The aligners function by placing pressure on specific teeth to move the teeth for a more comfortable experience gradually.

SIDE EFFECTS

Clear aligners are less likely to cause pain or discomfort as there are no brackets and wires. However, you may feel slight discomfort for the first few days after switching the trays, but they are a good sign that the trays are doing their job!

CARING FOR CLEAR ALIGNERS

The patients are recommended to wear Clear Correct Clear Aligners for 20-22 hours per day. They should only be removed for cleaning, eating, and drinking. To care for your clear aligners, brush and rinse them when you brush your teeth.

PROCEDURE TIME

It will typically take 9-16 months for the clear aligners to work to straighten your teeth. Some patients may also benefit from wearing a retainer even after the treatment is complete to avoid regression.
